The Day of Big Embraces
The members of the drama company are happily hugging each other. They are not only glad because the Czech, Dutch, Slovak and Hungarian actors have made friends but also because the play is set, they rehearsed it on Wednesday as a whole several times, and everything was right. >> More...
A Tiring Tuesday
The programme of the second day of this week was hard for the organizers. The faces reflect real tiredness. They have already had the costumes, but there is no time to stop. On Wednesday they have to go to the place of the performance and a few small pieces of the setting are still missing. However, everybody is glad that they have set all the scenes, the actors are more and more confident with their texts and the movements.
Gabó, The Key Figure
Without Gabriella Jékel this play might not have been realized. She helps Sándor Füsti-Molnár and his actors with preparing, she wrote the text book in English and she keeps the contact with the foreign drama groups. We have got to know an apt and very kind lady in her personality, who – following the members of AHA Drama Group – became attached to the foreign guest actors as well during the first few days. >> More...
The Athmosphere on The Rehearsals Are Simply Fantastic
It may be due to the morning choice of costumes or the lessening of tension, that by the end of Monday evening the actors of AHA Drama Group together with the Czech, Dutch and Slovak partners finished the rehearsal in a hilarious mood. What’s more, every scene is ready now, only some refining is needed. Calmness is reflected on the faces of the directors too, Fecske’s eyes are simply beaming with joy and proud. >> More...
Sightseeing in The Morning, Rehearsal in The Afternoon
At last, on this sunny Sunday morning the foreign groups got the opportunity to see Budapest. The official cars of the Hungarian Red cross and Patrik’s own car drove them to Gellért Hill and the Buda Castle. This latter sight was seen only by the Czech and the Slovaks because Fecske was waiting for the Dutch at the rehearsal room to work on the first scene where most of the parts are played by them. >> More...
Preparation Is in A More And More Friendly Athmosphere
The Slovak, Czech and Hungarian members started this day with a run-through again. The Dutch arrived only later, at lunch time. Gabi and Fecske told positive remarks about the discussion among the directors last night. They couldn’t understand each other the previous day because they hadn’t known each other’s working methods. They have agreed that during the rehearsals they will let individual ideas have space, but it mustn’t be forgotten that they should mainly concentrate on each actor’s forming their characters perfectly. >> More...
The Foreign Theatres Arrive
On Wednesday evening the first to arrive in Budapest were the Czech. The next day the Dutch and the Slovaks also arrived. There was only little time for getting to know each other, they haven’t seen anything in the capital city yet, and they will not have too many opportunities for that. On Friday morning they started at the place of the rehearsals, in Szentkirályi Street, with running the actors through their parts in the morning, then with the movements in the afternoon. >> More...
